Description: Barbados is located just to the east of the Caribbean Sea within the western Atlantic Ocean. Barbados is the easternmost Caribbean Island and is predominantly a low lying island which rises gently to the central highland region. The climate of Barbados is tropical with a wet season from June till November and dry season from December to May. The name 'Barbados' is shrouded in controversy. Both the Portuguese and the Spanish have been credited as the first Europeans to discover and name the island in 1519. The word 'Barbados' translates to 'bearded', however it is a matter of conjecture whether bearded refers to the long, hanging roots of the bearded fig-tree which is indigenous to the island or to the bearded Carib people who once inhabited the island. The British only arrived in 1625 landing at the present-day site of Holetown. Barbados was under uninterrupted British control until there independence in 1966. During this time their culture was never repressed and in many cases embraced by the British colonials. Today Barbados is an oasis paradise for everyone. Weather you looking for magnificent 5 star excellences and luxury or simply a nice little room on the beach you can find it here. There is accommodation to suit every style and budget.
